Do it once to put it on your resume, other than that, it's a moneymaking deal to get smart kids to shell out $$$ so mommy can have a talking piece, but hey i did it so i can't complain.

I think it is just a money-making scam. I got the book a while ago; it costs money to buy it and even more to put your picture in it. I say, enjoy your own personal accomplishments instead. A good GPA looks better on your resume.

Yep. Not worth it unless your parents want to see your name in print. It also won't wash on your resume just showing your future employers that you once fell for a scam.
