My hair is dark brown, almost black. I do not want to bleach my hair, but I do want to get my hair to a bright red color. What hair color brand would work for me? My friend said Revlon has good ones, but I want to hear from other people on any suggestions.

Try loreal creme color in red. You have to buy it at a beauty supply like Sallys or something

The hair color change you describe is very dramatic so I strongly recommend that you go to a professional hair dresser.

Since your hair is so dark, the color would have to be stripped (bleached) and then dyed red. Red dye alone cannot cover or alter your current shade.

The other thing to remember is that you will have to constantly re-dye your hair to cover the roots. If you do not, you will have a harsh dark roots. Besides, the time and expense, this will be really hard on your hair.

The other consideration is your skin tone. A bright red may clash with your complexion, your eyebrows and eye color.

Revlon is good.
For a true bright red you should look somewhere like Sally's. They have really nice hair dyes that are more on the erotic side. that's where i got mine when i had blue hair.

If you have almost black hair... red will not take. If your lucky you will get burgundy but bright red? Forget it. To achieve that you will have to use bleach.

you can try the red colour not on all your hair but just a little, and don't bleach it if your skin colour is not white....ask a professional to get some help in choosing the right colour.
