Hi...my daughter is 16 months old and here recently has been really bad about having her diaper changed. She doesn't have problems pooping or anything, but when it comes time for me to change her diaper (esp. #2 diapers!) she goes crazy, kicking and turning on the changing table. When my hubby is home, he has to help me change her! Is this normal?? Oh, and I've even tried giving her something to play with while changing her and that doesn't even work anymore. Any suggestions! Thanks

Been there, done that. Have no solution! The only thing I did was put her in her crib for a minute cuz she would get me so frustrated and not sit still for anything. Sometimes that wouldn't even work, but it has as she's gotten older. It's only on occasion, not an everyday thing. (Thank god LOL) So yes, it's normal, but no, no suggestions. Sorry, but I do understand completely what you are going through!

Yes it is! My son hates to lay down for it if I don't work up to it first. I have better (not perfect, just better luck) if I tell him what is going to happen. So I will ask "do you need a clean diaper" and he says no, so I say lets check I think you do, and we walk to his room together (like a big boy). Then I will ask what we need and he shows me where the diapers are and the wipes. Then I will ask him to help me get his pants off or unbutton those snaps and "lean back" (there is a hip hop song that says lean back, so we sing that part of the song). Then I tell him now we can clean you up and we talk a little about random stuff "who goes to school with you" "what happens at school"-stuff he is able to answer. Then he helps get his pants back on and were done. Getting dressed after bath is the same type of thing. Some days it works great-some days not so much. Gotta love that toddler "do it myself" attitude.

My son is also 16 months old and hes a little wiggle worm but his aunt taught me a secret. sit down on the side of a bed or couch and lay her on your knees so that her head is supported but hanging off a little and don't let her get comfortable. my son never moves because hes scared he'll fall off. it works try it!
