If they issued you a 1099 showing the amount you received, then it is taxable. I would argue that it is not taxable since it really isn't income, it is a rebate on your purchases. So you can say that it is like redeeming a coupon on your purchase. We would never report the savings we get on our purchases through coupons or purchase rebates as taxable income.

This is a rebate check for personal purchases. It is not taxable.
