I've felt this for a good three years now off and on, mostly when i'm really stressed. But lately it happens all the time and I'm not under any stress at all! It's hard to describe. It's like for a split second I feel a little jump in the center of my chest and I don't take in any air. Then afterward I feel my heart beat really really fast for about a second or two, and I have to take a deep breath. For the last 2 days it's happened a lot, and today it seems to be every fifteen minutes! And it's lasting more than a second, like two or three seconds and it hurts. Is this my heart skipping a beat? Does anyone else feel this? I tell my shuband all the time "geeze, it feels like my heart skips a beat" then I explain it and ask him if it ever happens to him. he says no and moves on...so I guess it's no big deal, or is it?

Well I'm one that has the same thing I have had this for about 10 years,I have had it checked out and they can't seem to find anything wrong,I know what you mean and it gets a little scary at times.I fine being nervous about something doesn't help.In any case you should have it checked out,it might not be the same thing.Good Luck!!!

It IS a big deal, you don't know what's going on with your heart, so get yourself to a cardiologist that can check you out. Don't play around with this!!

I have a condition called AVR (I can't remember what it stands for) that causes my heart to deviate from its normal beat pattern once in a while, and while at this point it's not life-threatening, sometimes I can feel when my heart beats "funny".

Please don't play around, find a reputable cardiologist and have yourself checked out! Good luck, dear!

if you feel that something's wrong happening with your heart, then you should see your doctor and get a cardiology consult. you won't loose anything if you will do that even if you are not sure that there is really something wrong. you might be having heart blocks. i'm not trying to scare you but a lot of people die from heart problems. don't listen to them when they say there is nothing wrong with that, unless your doctor is the one who told you. it's always better to make sure.

Its called heart palpitations.Ive had them for a while. Most of time its nothing to worry about. Its just kinda your hearts way of resetting itself. But if you are starting to have pain,i think it would be worth a trip to the doctor.Pain could be a sign of a blockage, so its better to have it checked.Better safe than sorry as it goes.Good luck

I have heard of something called an arrhythmia heart condition, i.e irregular heart beats, (Premature ventricular contractions) you should see a doctor about this as it can be a serious condition and needs to be treated.

This site has lots of info on it http://www.medicinenet.com/arrhythmia_irregular_heartbeat/article.htm

Heart skipping is bad. It's your heart spasming. If the muscle stops, you die.

Alot of the time it is dehydration. Drink alot of water. It also may be a guy with a cupe doll, but we can't do much about that now can we?
