Well, it depends on how you feel about him. Did you break up with him because you didn't like him, or because your friend influenced you?
If you still like him, try and patch things up between you two. Tell him you want to give it another shot. If he feels the same, it's all good.
And as for that back-stabbing friend--get rid of her! Everyone knows the unspoken rule of not dating your friend's ex! She is way out of line, and you don't need people like that in your life!
