Yes it could be that the medication is not suited to your body. The real name for Cipralex is Escitalopram. This is an anti-depressant that comes under the heading of SSRI's. This stands for Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors. It is a fairly powerful drug with an average dose of 10mg daily. 20mg if necessary. There are other SSRI's on the market and I would if I was you seek out medical advice from your local doctor or hospital. I have found that in my career as a mental health nurse Cipralex to be a very touch and go drug. You either respond to it or you don't. Seek advice on such drugs as Fluoxetine or Citalopram.

Yes, it could be the medication. I found Cipralex to very helpful for the first few months and then the medication turned against me and I felt abnormally depressed than usual. Go back to your doctor and tell him that you suspect the medication is making you feel worse. He may prescribe another one or a mood stabilizer instead. It sounds like you have more complicated depression and I would ask to see a psychiatrist who may help you better.

i was on that for 6 weeks and i felt worse. some people react to different medication in different ways, i felt almost suicidal after being on it. if a medication is going to work it usually takes about 3-5 weeks for your body to adjust to it. if you have been on it for this long then i doubt it will work for you. there are 3 types of antidepressents and you just may not be suitable for that type. go back to the doctors and ask for a different type of anti-depressent- try a tricyclic such as dothiepin.
