could i claim myself as a dependent?
also live with girlfriend, supported her for a whole year and does school online, would i be able to claim her as a dependent?

You don't claim yourself as a dependent, but as long as you aren't a dependent of someone else, you get a personal exemption for yourself, so taxwise it amounts to the same thing.

If your girlfriend lived with you ALL year (not just most of it), you provided over half of her support, nobody else is going to claim her, and her total income for the year was less than $3300, then yes, you can claim her as a "qualifying relative" even though she's not related to you - that's the term the IRS uses, but the person doesn't need to be a relative by blood or marriage if they meet the requirements of income, residence and support.

G/F's do not apply. You are not a dependant you are the person filing the tax info. You may ask them if they due consider your GF since you may be looking at common-law status though I feel it unlikely.

You are your own dependent. Your girlfriend is her own dependent. As long as she is not your legal spouse, and is over 18 - she is her own person.
