I am Catholic but I know a little about your Church. You are a Christian Church and believe basically the same as the Catholic Church. Henry the VIII broke from the Catholic Church in 1533. This is where your church comes from. I went to an Episcopal Mass once just to see what it was like. It is not very different from a Catholic Mass and I do not believe that your church teaches very much different from ours. You are Christians and I believe you have the same Apostles Creed that we have. Ask your pastor for some more religious education.

It is actually called an acolyte, and I was once one. I am also an Episcopalian and your best bet would be to talk to your priest. Don't be afraid, it is the reason why he is there for you.

Also, The Episcopalians believe practically the same thing that the average christian does. The only difference to me is the lack of loud, active responses from the parishioners of other churches like the Baptists and other churches with loud music. It is pretty quiet and getting straight to the point. It is also based on basic ancient routine. Let me know if you want to know more

google it. You will find all kinds of history, for instance the Episcopal or Anglican Church came from King Henry breaking away from the Holy Roman church and starting his own church. The HR church wouldn't give him a divorce or maybe it was two divorces. Anyway have fun in your search for the truth. Don't let yourself get taken in unless you have a back door plan for getting out. Lots of shenanigans happening in religion and thats the norm.

Imagine if George W. Bush declared himself the earthly spiritual head of every Christian in America, and had put to death those who refused to recognize him as that. That's Anglicanism/Episcopalianism.
