My husband and I are currently stationed in Germany. Almost all of the Medical jobs are filled by active duty soldiers. There are very few jobs for civilians. There is really no need since they send you on the economy for most of your medical care. And when you do see a Dr at the clinic, they go straight to their office and put everything in the computer. And the nurse puts the vitals and stuff in the computer as she takes them. What base are you going to? The only place that you would probably have any luck in Launstule and I don't think that army is stationed there anyway. Although it is just up the road from baumholder. Possibly Heidelberg. Go to your bases website, and click on the the civilian employment link. I think it is under the newcomers section and they have everything broken down into field. I hope this helps a little. Good luck.

Most likely not. There is only 2 major hospitals that are American run in Germany. The other places in Germany, only have minor clinics where they do basic care, no major medical procedures, those are done on the economy. BUT the best thing to do is when your husband has pin point orders call their clinic and find out. You will have to of course go through the hiring process on any military installation

Every base in Germany has dental and medical clinics. Some places even have full sized hospitals. These military facilities routinly hire dependants to work but the jobs may be difficult to get and sometimes have waiting lists. My advice would be to contact the transition assistance center at your inbound duty station. They will be able to provide you with all the information you need and perhaps put you on a waiting list ahead of time.

I am from Germany and got married to an American (Army).
While your husband is in the service you will always be close to an American Military base or post. Those posts or bases have American military hospitals etc. Once you are on an American base/post it is just as if you are in the USA. Same thing just different country. Of course once you go off post, the German system is totally different - naturally.

you can do medical transcription from anywhere in the world. if you contract thorugh various companies, they will send you the info and you do the work and send it back.
simple.

if you aren't into medical transcription as of yet, then check out kaplan university. they ahve online courses and the cost is not too bad and they are accredited (most important part). also, they can help you get a job in the field before you even graduate.

take care.
