From LimeWire it is yes, none of the content on LimeWire is licensed by the copyright holders so it's all illegal. And it makes no difference if you're running the Pro version, all you're doing there is paying for extra features in the software itself, the actual content you download is still unlicensed.

It's spelled illegal.
And the music companies like the RIAA will tell you that it is, so you won't do it.
But it's sort of like jaywalking.
Nobody really cares.
The lawsuits they've been doing can be defeated.. and unless you're a mass sharer running 24/7, you won't be found out by their snoopers.
Unless, of course, you're a business. Then there is money to be had by suing your business for illegal activities.
I use limewire all the time, and will continue to use it.
When it goes down, I'll use something else.
Rinse, repeat.
Edit to add:
You can't get a virus from an mp3 file, so pay no attention to a previous poster. Just don't download exe's or bats or other various possible malicious files.

As a general rule, if something is free, then its illegal.
There are a very few specific instances where its ok, but these are rare. So its best to just play it safe and download from the paysite of a trusted company like walmart (the term "trusted" is used loosely lol)

It depends entirely on WHAT you download. For most commercial music it is illegal, pro or free.

Yes it is illegal in the US
File sharing is legal in Canada as long as you do not have to pay.
I use www.torrentz.com you don't have to register so they have no way really track who is getting what.
