I saw an answer from Father K about this. He is one person that I would definately pay attention to what he says.

I know I will see answers about Revelations this and Revelations that. Most of you know how much weight I give anything found in the bible.

It is my understanding that a little girl in Scotland(I think) had a vision about 150 yrs ago while she was sick, but I may be wrong. There is nothing in the bible that points to anything about this so-called rapture.

Good question. I liked father K's answer too. I always thought it came from revelation. But I can't wait to see the other answers. I do hope it's not just a bunch of bible verses.

John Nelson Darby, a whacked-out Irish Anglican, is at the root of what we now consider to be Raputre-based theology....

Is it biblical? Well, sure, it references the bible, but it's an interpretation of Biblical passages (just liek any theological idea) and can't be taken as absolute truth..

I am not sure exactly but i think whoever said 1800s Scotland is right. I can tell you that I am Catholic and that our Church is really old and it never had any "rapture" teaching and still does not.
