I use a ceramic flat iron everyday. I use a lot of conditioner, including weekly treatments. I use Biosilk in my hair before drying it. That keeps it soft. there is also a product called HEAT SEAL by Paul Mitchell that was recommended to me, but I haven't tried it yet, but it is specifically for this purpose. You put it on before using the flat iron.

Kenra has some wonderful products that protect your hair from heating elements. What I find especially cool is that you can use a decent amount of product and it doesn't feel like you have anything in your hair. Also, your choice of iron is important. Make sure you are using an ionic iron. This disperses the heat and doesn't "burn" your hair. I also use one that is wet to dry. That seems to help a lot too. Good luck!

any heat protection hair products would be enough to protect your hair from the heat and seal in moisture, there are many different lines out there,my favorite is Fashionesta, smells great. If you use the protection with each use of a flat iron you should be ok to do it every day if the style calls for it. Blessings to you!

Try to flat iron your hair every other day, and use a low setting. Try salon products for heat. I use Redken or Biolage. Keep up on the trims and stay away from highlighting or dyes. Your will over process your hair.
Also allow your hair to air dry. I wash mine and then go to bed with it wet. In the morning I flat iron it.

i have a CHI ceramic straightener.. do it quite often. i also make waves and curls w/ the straightener.. u gotta moisturize. always use conditioner, and u can get spray in conditioner from thermasilk or something when ur hair is still damp. then before u use the straightener, use a serum (CHI also has one, it's like $12.00), and that will protect ur hair somewhat.
good luck!
ps. do NOT get the dangerously straight spray from Herbal Essence. .i tried it and it has lots of alcohol in it so ur hair is straight, but not soft at all!! i think i'm going to return it :(
