Anal sacs probably need to be expressed. These are two small glands inside the anus. The material secreted into these glands are meant to have a foul smell as they were designed for marking territory or in self defense. Defecation is the natural way to empty the glands but some animals have become unable to empty their glands on their own due to becoming domesticated over time. So what happens
are that the sacs become filled with this fluid and it becomes uncomfortable for the animal. Dogs with impacted anal sacs usually scoot their rear on the ground in an attempt to empty the glands. Others will lick their anal arear or chase their tails.
TREATMENT:Hold a rag or tissue up to the anus and squeeze both sides of the anal area. If the fluid is very pasty, then you are going to have to do it internally. Place a rubber glove and lubricate one of your fingers (perferably your fore finger) with vaseline.Insert the finger in the anus and squeeze the sacs between your thumb and forefinger into a rag held by the other hand. Then do the same on the other side. Your vet will probably charge about 20-30 for the procedure. I do one of my dogs myself because it's so easy. It only takes 1 minute after you get the hang of it. It takes me longer to brush their teeth and I've been doing that for years.

It could possibly be that her anal glands need to be expressed. You can take her to a vet or a groomer for that, or you can do it yourself but it is often messy and smelly (as you've already discovered). Another sign that the problem lies in her anal glands is if she scoots her rear on the floor. Usually the anal glands are naturally expressed when a dog goes to the bathroom, but that doesn't always happen as nature intended and they must be expressed manually.
As far as spaying her - are you planning on doing so? She's far too young to breed, and heat cycles can be messy and irritating (for her and you!). Some owners also express dismay that their sweet puppy's temprement has changed for the worse after they have gone through heat - not to mention that spaying eliminates the possibility of many cancers that are fairly common in unspayed dogs (uterine, for example). When you add those factors to the knowledge that whelping (giving birth) can be extremely dangerous and even deadly for a dog, many people opt to spay their dogs.

Well only your vet can give you an informed answer... but I can give you my opinion of what may be the cause of the smell. Dogs have anal glands located in their anus, these glands are used to scent mark their poop on the way out... sometimes the anal glands need to be drained, or can get infection or the dog may release some scent when they are scared or startled and it reallly reallly stinks alot!!
Your vet or groomer can usually drain your dogs anal glands if there is a problem with smell.
Excerpt from Wikipedia... In dogs, these glands are occasionally referred to as "scent glands", because they enable the animals to mark their territory and identify other dogs. The anal glands normally empty when the dog defecates. Failure to empty results in discomfort from the full anal gland pushing on the anus. The glands can be emptied by the dog's owner, or more typically by a groomer or veterinarian, by squeezing the gland so the contents are released through the small openings on either side of the anus. Discomfort is evidenced by the dog scooting its posterior on the ground, licking or biting at the anus, sitting uncomfortably, or chasing its tail.
Discomfort may also be evident with impaction or infection of the anal glands. Anal gland impaction results from blockage of the duct leading from the gland to the opening. The gland is usually nonpainful and swollen. Anal gland infection results in pain, swelling, and sometimes abscessation and fever. Treatment is by expression of the gland, lancing of an abscess, and oral antibiotics and antibiotic infusion into the gland in the case of infection. The most common bacterial isolates from anal gland infection are E. coli, Enterococcus faecalis, Clostridium perfringens, and Proteus species.[2]
Anal glands may be removed surgically in a procedure known as anal sacculectomy. This is usually done in the case of recurrent infection or because of the presence of an anal sac adenocarcinoma, a malignant tumor. Potential complications include fecal incontinence (especially when both glands are removed), tenesmus from stricture or scar formation, and persistent draining fistulae.[3]
Anal gland fluid is normally yellow to tan in color and watery in consistency. Impacted anal gland material is usually brown or gray and thick. The presence of blood or pus indicates infection.

There are glands on either side of the rectum that fill up with very foul smelling stuff. A vet will drain them for you and show you how to do it at home. It's like squeezing a pimple.

You have to clean the glands in there when you give her a bath. You can ask your vet for advice.

Maybe she has a bladder infection or some other kind of infection. Does she seem to go pee a lot or is it difficult to potty train her? I had a dog that had a similar problem and she was impossible to house train. But the good news is that she eventually got over it.

has he been staggering wormed by way of his veterinarian?, if no longer i might definately drop off a stool pattern to ascertain for parasites. it would desire to be the consistent replace in his nutrition, that could reason digestive dissatisfied particularly while you're no longer introducing it to him progressively. while changing a canines nutrition you oftentimes prefer to do it over a era. provide 25% of latest nutrition to seventy 5% of the previous for 5 days provide 50% of latest nutrition to 50% of previous nutrition for yet another 5 days. provide seventy 5% of latest nutrition to 25p.c.of previous nutrition for yet another 5 days. that's going to take awhile in spite of the undeniable fact that it would insure that your puppy gets no gastric dissatisfied from a surprising nutrition replace. Are you feeding a meat based nutrition which includes hen?

Time to call the vet! When my dog was a puppy I kept a box of wet wipes by the door and as soon as he did his 'business', I wiped him off. He always smelled fresh and clean!
I wish you well - God bless!

I use to take my dog to the groomer once a month for "the works", which included having her anal gland cleaned. You really don't want to be around for that.
