well. . . there starting subs are piles of crap. the more expensive subs are more expensive piles of crap. hope this helps. alpine sucks dude, check into Boston Acoustics, or MB Quart, and never listen to Alpine again.

haha alpine does not suck one my my buddies has to alpine type r`s and on about 450 RMS a piece and they hit real hard i would say that the Type R`s are alpines SPL sub and the type X is geared more toward the sound quality time of the spectum they also hit very hard and sound great at the same time so it depends on what you are lookin for in your sub.
