I need to know how to find out how long it takes, after the non-custodial parent files, that I receive check for child support. Maybe a number to call or something.

The IRS has specific dates for distribution of IRS intercept payments. You should be able to get a list from their website, www.irs.gov.

For instance, if the NCP's taxes were intercepted anywhere from Jan 14-Jan 28, their is a distribution date following that time period in which he or she filed.

Addition: IN regards to the answer below, please don't call your chld support office. I am a child support caseworker and the fact is that we ARE NOT involved in the federal intercept process, and cannot release any information about it (and we rarely know any more than you do)!!

do you have a child support order on file? also, is the non-custodial parent in arrears?
There is no real time line. I would call your child support enforcement agency. The IRS won't give you any information on the non-custodial parent's taxes.

It'll be at least summertime before you see it. The length of time depends on which state you live in and how slow they are.
