Ah, must be a PARENT of Teenagers!
Yes, at that point in time, this Long Term Single Parent was suffering .. not just because the ex was abusive/violent, and a deadbeat, but because the teens/young adults were in their Hormonal Raging, Selfish-me first, nasty "attitude" problems and all the other things associated with the transition into adulthood.
So ... given that I parented them through all those years .. and they could NOT respect me/my home .. it was time for them TO FLY .. and Fly they did.
Yes, I did feel 'tired' from the overwhelming responsibility of being a long-term single parent. But now ...
especially since I am an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree (FINALLY!) I am getting to ENJOY the HOME that my Hard Work purchased, the FREEDOM of NOT having to deal with any toxicity in MY HOME, and the PEACE and QUIET ...
ALL because I was the RESPONSIBLE ONE all along!

Resignation.....
And so it goes....
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year old again. I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant. I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them. I want to lie under a big oak tree & run a lemonade stand with friends on a hot summer's day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple. When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset. I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good. I want to believe that anything is possible.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.
I want to live simple again.
I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones. I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.
So....here's my checkbook and my car-keys, my credit card bills and my 401K statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood.
And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, cause, "Tag! You're it and I'm going flying

I'm tired of responsibility, but you know what it's part of life. We just have to deal with it the best way we know how.

I do get tired of responsibility, but I keep plugging on because I know that there is nothing that I can do about it.

you're taking a probability paying for used tires contained in the first position. some 'nook' shops set up even with you hand them and do not make an attempt to modify valve stems or correct stability the tires. i might want to bypass decrease back and a minimum of ask for a alternative tire in case you chanced on them to be that undesirable.

I agree and don't.
Being responsible is apart of life, but if you are taking on SOMEONE elses then you have the right to denounce your responsibilties.
