If you are running a fever and really feel like you are coming down with the flu, call the Dr. in the morning and tell them what you think. There is an anti-viral medication for the flu. It must be taken within 2 days of coming down with the flu to be effective!
What I have heard on the news is that it lessens the symptoms and shortens the duration. Call in the morning, please. If you are coming down with THE flu, it's not fun.

A study released this summer showed that above recomended doses of vitamin D can help fight of a cold or flu. Take about 2 or 3 times the Recomended Daily Allowance (RDA) of Vitamin D and twice the RDA of Vitamin C for 7 days - no more.

I felt the flu coming on, went for a really hot bath, drank about a litre of OJ and went to bed early with my electric blanket.

Woke up next morning feeling fine.

Feel better soon! :-)

Vitamin C. Powdered preferably. You can take up to 10000 mgs or more a day. You can't really over dose. You know your body has had more than it can handle if you start getting diarrhea - then you would just take less. 1 tsp is 2400 mgs. Its rather bitter. Mixing it with juice is a good way to drink it.

Drink twice as much water as normal. Buy cold-eze cough drops from the drugstore and take as directed. Take a multi-vitamin and echanacea (SP?) every day. let yourself rest. eat healthy. just take super good care of yourself. if it's easy go to a dr. and get checked out earlier rather than later.
