Ghost Wolf -- part of my point is wondering whether mind can be supported by other complex physical structures besides brains.

Plant's don't have brains. Thus, they do not think and would render a telepath unable to communicate. Animals do have brains, so it is most likely that they think. So yes, telepaths can communicate with animals, though...I wonder if a language barrier would be set up...Hey, If you speak in english, do you think in greek?

Of course, you never know...I'm not a telepath, so I couldn't really answer. The best you'd get is a feeling of what their saying, like their emotions.

you dont have to be telepathic to communicate with animals, I communicate with my dog and my cat...all you have to do is pay attention to the way they communicate, learn their language...its not very hard if you have any sort of IQ :)
