The United States gave Hussein poison chemicals and weapons to fight his enemy at that time the Iranians.were his enemy.This country thought that they still had some of them left over,those are the so called weapons of mass destruction we looked for.Doesn't anyone remember Rumsfeld shaking hands with Hussien at the Whitehouse?

You really need to check your facts. The US banned all 'dual-use' materials when we discovered Saddam's WMD program.

This did not do any good because the Europeans cheerfully provided WMD supplies and technical advice. The Germans even designed the nerve-gas factory.

BTW - I regard anybody who regards that picture of Cheney and Saddam shaking hands as significant in any way as completely lame. Carter shook hands with Breneshev, Reagan with Andropov, and Clinton with the person who supervised the torture of American POWs during the Vietnam war - are you saying that these people approved of and supported them?

I remember Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein but Iraq got its chemical weapons from France and the Soviet Union.

Over half the chemical weapons equipment, and much of its initial stock, came from Germany. The nuclear materials came largely from France and Italy, the latter of which also sent rocket materials. Much of the biological warfare materials came from the U.S.

This is actually misleading (and I suspect untrue).

Iraq had an immense department of government dedicated and funded for weapons development for more than 20 years.

But I wouldn't want to ruin your fun. If you have a psychological need to blame the US for stuff you can't really prove and will never really affect you, please, be my guest.
