What can i do for being less shy?

I want to become an actress but i'm too shy.When i get on stage i freak out.I'm afraid that the people seeing will judge me and say bad things about me.Is there any way to control that?How can i be more confident?

you will never get about it unless you face it for the first time.

The best thing to do is to chose a performing place where you wont care a damn what the audience might think. Sign up for some such petty talent shows. And once you are on stang try not to be yourself for next few seconds. Yes audience will always critize you. But you cont care a damn right? but you will finish what you are there on the stage for.That is the performers job. And you will never become what you want to be unless you face and control the very thing you fear....good luck on your career.

Start small. Volutneer to read for children at a local school or bookstore or even a hospital. That gets you in front of the little people. When you feel comfortable with this, join a book club or some other adult club where you might have to speak to other adults on a mass basis instead of one on one. Join a local theater group after this and take it to the stage. Phobias need to be broken into slowly, good luck.

go out and get ripped apart - eventually you will toughen up and not be shy - if you want to get rid of the shyness that is - being shy you will be abused by the extroverts as you are the weaker of the bunch - you have to earn your stripes
