there are no health risks or any advantages to following such a practice. unless you are camping, etc. and are unsure of the cleanliness of your water source there is no purpose to boiling water.

I've never heard of that! I would think that boiling water twice would kill twice the bacteria in the water? I'm curious now too!

well boil it once to get bacteria out.... if bacteria slips in again i doubt it would hurt to boil it again. All boiling water is is making the molecules move faster. it is still water nothing chemically has changed.
