As opposed as when I only sleep 6 hrs I feel perfectly fine in the morning but towards the end of the day I feel somewhat tired. I thought 8 hrs were supposed to make you feel just right the next day. I'm I missing something?

I don't know, but sometimes I feel when I sleep too long I feel groggy. =P

Not for everyone. Some people can function great with 6 hours, some people need 10. If you find that 6 works better for you, then only sleep 6. If your body needs a little extra, you can take a nap on the weekend.
