According to what I'm understanding via Buddhist teachings, the mind perceives things via the brain and sensory organs, it is empty of inherent existence, the cause of mind now (at this moment and in this life) is the causes and conditions from the moment of mind before. Mind can be trained to perceive things correctly and as you progress in correct perception it's said you can do various "things" that some people label as "supernatural".

Is this what you're getting at? Hope that made some sense.

It is possible this selection mechanism may actually have profound and deep implications. The world is likely quite a bit different than the limited way that the mind perceives it.
