Fortunately, nothing. Chewing gum isn't digestible, but it also won't stay in your stomach "forever". It will simply pass through your system like anything else that your body cannot properly digest. This is confirmed by "The Straight Dope".

When you swallow gum it won't be digested so it comes out in one piece. It will, however, stay inside you for a few days.

It, too, shall pass!

Remember the old song...

"Does you chewing gum loose its flavour
On the bedpost over night
If your mother says don't chew it
Do you swallow it in spite?
Can you catch it on your tonsils
And heave it left and right
Does your chewing gum loose its flavour
On the bedpost over night!"

Not much, but legend has it that it takes 7 years for your system to digest gum.

Your body will digest it without any difficulty, those stomach acids are pretty strong. Chances are you won't even notice when you pass it.

Nothing, it'll just sit in your stomach for 2 years until its broken down.

It will pass on through... it doesn't really stay in your stomach for seven years like they say!
