Our church has been looking for a worship leader off and on for several years. Other churches seem to have several very gifted singers. My church (150 people) only has 1 person (who is leaving the country for 6 months) who can stand up and lead a congregation in singing. Is this a problem for other churches?

Yes, this can be a problem for other churches but is also indicative of a problem that exist in the church as a whole. People have come to associate the word worship with singing when in actuality all of our life is supposed to be an act of worship and singing is really a much smaller part. Add to this that singing worship for many has become either a spectator sport or an avenue for performance and we see that perhaps the fundamental problem is not the lack of worship leaders but our whole concept of what is and is not worship.

I belong to a fairly small Church probably about 70 families. Several years ago we had the same thing happen, our prayer groups starting praying for Worship leaders and now it is quite remarkable how many talented people have since come forward to lead, sing, play musical instruments. Trust in God.

some churches yes, some no, your church needs to pray someone to come to fill the positiont and if not they need to pray for an answer why one is not being provided.
