Going to Maui for 10 days first week of April. Staying 4 days in Hana and 6 days at Black Rock.
Any good hikes to recommend? What is the best luau? Riding the bike down Halakela volcano - how long does that take? What is a fun very "Hawaiian" place to eat? To go out and party with other tourists?
Any more tips? MAHALO~

The day you get to Maui, make a reservation for Mama's Fish House, order the lobster stuffed Mahi Mahi, encrusted White Macadamia nuts. I am not joking!!! This is the best meal I have ever had. I think about it all the time. Everything you eat is caught fresh that day. Very important that you book it 2 days ahead of time though.

Riding the bike down Haleakala can be a half day or longer and it starts in the early morning. From what I have heard it is pretty cool, if you do the sunrise as well. Pick a day that is kind of overcast though. The colors are better. Cheeseburgers in Paradise is a fun spot in Lahaina as a suggestion on top of the others. There are some cool hikes that you can do over the lava rocks in the south end of Maui that takes you to a neat snorkeling spot called the Aquarium. A great book to check out is Maui Revealed, it's a blue book that is not greatly biased. They have great information about all kinds of things to do on Maui (including hikes) and there are books for each island. I personally liked the snorkeling on the south end (La Perouse area) rather than the Molokini Crater. Dance clubs are a bit different in Maui, but Lahaina has some cool places. Have fun. I miss it.

I accept as true with 'in touch citizen' except the pink sand sea coast--the only i'm considering isn't on the line to Hana that's in Kihei (south of Lahaina). yet another sea coast to visit is enormous sea coast (south of Kihei). that is so alluring and extremely relaxing. Softer sand and hotter water than Waikiki.
