We are drilling boreholes in the Adriatic Sea, east to Ravenna in Croatian water. During drilling we had a H2S gas alarm but the detector is broken now. Our client on board claims there is never H2s detected in he Adriatic sea, around that area. how can we prove that before any victims fallen.

I would see if the mudlogger could get you another H2S monitor. If they are any kind of company, you should be able to get one shipped to you easily. If you are the mudlogger, then you should request that your company send you out one.

To answer your question, I would investigate the oil & gas regulatory authority and see what records they have.

Next, if there are not any SCBA escape paks on board, then you likely do not have anything to be concerned about. The rigs I worked on before had them for H2S zones. Others that were not in zones did not have them. Check with the safety officer. Better yet, see if the company man has one. If he does, then you have a good case for probable cause.
