I am trying to do a report on subliminal messaging advertising and how it was used throughtout life. But, i cannot find anything on it. Can someone please help me find more new issues and such for my 30 page report?

Subliminal advertising was a big deal back in the 1970s, when it was revealed that some theaters had put "Drink Coke" on their screens for a single frame, too quickly to be caught by the conscious mind, but not too quick for the unconscious mind. People got thirsty and bought plenty of Coke, but they didn't even know the message had been there. This was eventually decided to be unsporting by the advertising counsel.
However, subliminals still exist. One of the most disturbing is rap. You can't really hear the words unless you make an effort, but a person driving by with their car stereo blasting will put those words in your unconscious mind, and your unconscious will react to them. Since there is much hate and violence in rap, so you feel lousy without knowing why.
It is definitely true that advertising learned from the worst of brainwashing techniques created by the North Koreans during the Korean "police action." It is also true that those same techniques are used not only for commercial messages, but political and social ones as well.
