Do you have a sliding door? There are inserts that you can buy that fit between your sliding door and the wall. They look like a mini-sliding glass door, but with a cat door at the bottom. You attach them to the wall and you close the regular sliding door to the insert. It comes with special rubber strips and a lock. I don't have one, but I know someone who does. She's had it for some time, but I'm sure they still make one because it's a great invention. She probably got it at a pet store or Wal-Mart, but you could try a home improvement store, too, I guess.

Good luck!

We used to have that sliding door at home. It wasn't a big door, only a kinda of screen thing for summer. My cat could easily push it and open it alone. Only thing is: we had to close it everytime cause the cat didn't get the closing part.

But if your door is a sliding one, there is always a way to train your cat to open it. Else than that, or you'll have to make a hole in your current door, or you can go buy one that already has one!

Good luck!

I have never run across a method that does not require a cut-out in the door - but I have seen pre-fabricated doors that already contain the cut-away so you can insert whatever method you wish. But nothing keeps a pet safe (and your home too) like keeping them inside! Indoor cats live much longer, healthier and happier lives. I've had two of my 6 cats live to be past 15 and expect my three now to live to be at least that long or more with proper diet, exercise, meds and keeping them indoors!

Hea, Doors already come with the cut out and a passage door.
Just remove the old door and replace with the new one.
In some cases and a few dollars more they'll even do it.

I don't know if you have a Lowe's hardware store near you, but I know that they sell a door there that already has a pet door installed into it. I'm not sure about the price, but I want to say it was around $240.00. Good luck!

If you have a sliding glass door, you can purchase a pet door that fits into the slider frame. Just put "pet door" into your search engine and several will come up.

Yes, there are cat doors meant to fit into an open window. I've seen them, but don't know where to buy one...
