Can't say I like your list of favs, but to each his own.

How bad can your teeth be...you sound like a young teenager. Use whitening toothpaste or ask your parents to buy you some Crest Whitestrips if they are really bad. If they are, you aren't brushing, flossing properly. Don't drink a lot of sodas, coffee, tea. Especially tea. It contains tannic acid and that does stain teeth badly.

The best and easiest way is to see your dentist for a cleaning. They can remove the stains caused from the coffee and smoking. Then the rest is up to your home care in keeping the stains off. Once you get the stains removed, it will be a lot easier to keep them off! Using a soft toothbrush and whitening toothpaste can do wonders alone.

If you want the hollywood white, then talk to the dentist about home bleaching. The strips are a temporary bleaching solution that last for a week or two. The dentist can make you custom bleaching trays and give you a solution to use, or there is the one hour bleaching method.

The custom trays ususally takes a few minutes to a couple of hours a day for about two weeks to reach your desired results. Most patients I've found love this type of whitening. It allows them to "touch up" by bleaching whenever they feel their teeth are getting stained again. The average cost of this is around $200-400. It's the method of bleaching I've used for over 15 years now.

They also have a one hour system that the dentist does in his office, it's quiet expensive though, somewhere around the $600-$700 area. Some dentist don't use it or recomend it due to the sensitivity it causes. It usually last for a couple of years and requires touch up with bleaching pens and mouthwashes which are expensive too. I have to tell you that my son used this one at our office, and within a few months he was using his trays again.

So, it's really up to you and how much you want to spend to get those "pearly" whites. I would check around on the prices in your area. But the key question is, are you willing to maintain it, with regular appointments with your dentist and diligent home care? Talk to your dentist, they can answer all of your questions. Good luck!

I've tried them all and here's the best:

1. Laser whitening in a dentist office (amazing how white the teeth get, but if you drink a lot of coke and coffee it doesn't last long)

2. Buy a take home bleaching kit from your dentist and get him to make molds of your teeth for the trays. The bleaching solution comes in different strengths so ask. Very good results.

3. The products that you buy in the drug store like Crest White Strips. I personally wouldn't waste my money on them, but some people like them. I found them hard to apply and didn't notice much difference at all.

My Father used to put coarse salt on his brush - his teeth were sooooo white! Don't swallow it though! Might not be a good idea but it sure worked for him! Also he used to chew on licquorice wood sticks, and said they cleaned his teeth too! I believe that some people are more prone to 'yellowing' of the teeth, due to tea/coffee/ smoking etc., all factors to be considered. Dont attempt any home bleaching kits, this needs to be done professionally or can lead to burnt gums.

seriously crest white strips are great. also use red mouth wash, it makes you tongue redder and your teeth appear more white because of this. otherwise talk to your dentist about getting a zoom treatment.
