I'm a lot older then you and i go through the same thing as well! I mean, is not like i have an exciting life and i have soooo many things going on at once so i understand what you mean when there are times that you just 'run out' of things to talk about.
Why don't you join a club or go out more often to different places, meet new people, read the paper, watch the news-- There are so many things that you can talk to your girl about, talk about her day, your day, your ideas, have meaningful talks about your lives, what you want to do in the future, heck, talk about other people!
Silence is not always bad, you don't have to talk every single minute you are together, Enjoy the time you guys are together, hold her hand and just enoy each other's company..... Good luck!

Dude!! First off, don't talk on the phone for hours, then it gives you something to talk about when you see her. Second thing is, if you have something on your mind SAY IT! It doesn't matter what, even if your right nut is itchy, let her know! If she's not wierded out you'll become really comfortable talking to each other about anything...then, really comfortable NOT talking as well. It's a great feeling to be able to sit in the same room and say nothing at all and not feel uncomfortable.

I'm a total phone person.the pressure arises when your constantly thinking of something interesting to say. but after a while it doesn't have to be that way.you can just hang on the phone, like while your watching a show or while your out and just talk generally about 'hey I've just reached here, hell I'm bored,I'm just getting in the loo,hey i don't know how i look today' etc. a bit of philosophy,a bit of your past,a bit of what you're up to .
basically just chill on the line. you don't have to faff too much.

Hehe- I remember when I was a teenager and would spend hours on the phone with my boyfreind. It was kind of stupid looking back, we didn't really talk a lot of the time, we would just be opn the phone with each other, each watching t.v. and maybe tallk when a commercial came on or something. I fell asleep one night, woke up later and the phone was laying next to me. That's just crazy-lol!

You just dont know her enough. The longer you know someone the more things you'll talk about.
Like you may have a best friend and you can talk to him endlessly about anything. Just talking about stupid things or important things or things that happened in the past, or about people you both know.
But if you havent known her long, you might not talk to her about little meaningless things because your scared she'll tell you its meaningless. You might not have many pat experiences together to talk about, you might not share friends.
Both of you still may be concerned with what the other one might think, or you just might not be close enough.
If you wanna fix this, talk! talk to her about lil things. like-
"Man I hate watching talk shows, they just talk about the same things...do you watch them? "
Talk about anything to what you ate for breakfast to what your friend did at school.
Just dont say stupid shhit like
"What did you eat for breakfast"
Because then she'll ask why and you want have a reason.
Say someting then ask what she thinks about it.

if you are uncomfortible with the silence, that means you are not comfortible with her...think about it...do you have a problem when you are sitting there alone with no noise...does that make you uncomfortible? my bf and i just sit on the phone..not necessarly talk,,,but just knowing that they are on the phone with you just in case you have something to say...i wouldn't worry about it too much though!!

silence isn't necessarily a bad thing. i think that tells how serious you are about each other, if you can be comfortable even when you don't have anything to talk about.
