Ice, ice and more ice. Water with ice in it to lower the temperature of the burn. Don't put any salve on it. That's an old saying that doesn't work.

They lower people into icebaths these days.

An awesome home remedy for burns would be Aloe Vera to help smooth the skin and bring moisture back. Also try Vaseline. Stay away from any scented lotions also. They may irritate the skin and make the sting worse. Ice is good to bring down the swelling and to numb the burn if it is sore. However, putting too much ice on a burn will cause the flow of blood to slow down around the burn and so slowing down the healing process. If the skin is severely burnt immediately see a doctor. Also see one if any yellow puss occurs. Be sure to keep the area clean to avoid infection and use an antibiotic cream. You may also try taking zinc vitamins to help speed up the healing process. Take care and I hope you get well soon.

Alcohol ( Isopropyl or ethylic does not matter) just splash on burn for a while every now and than when the pain becomes unbearable.
The pain will go away in 10 -30 min depending on how bad it is. (When the area is kept cold does not hurt that much when reaches room temp. it hurts).

Alternately keep it immersed in cold water for a while and when hurts immerse again in cold water.

Later on keep the area uncovered and allow the air on it in order to heal. If burn is bad smear oil – is important to maintain the skin moisture for proper healing.

Next time when you burn yourself just keep the skin in cold water (run the tap) IMEDIATELLY – this will reduce the damage caused by the heat in the cells (the heat is in there even if the skin is not on the hot stove and it takes time to cool down).

This is the only and I mean ONLY thing you should use on burns. Take cold water or ice and put it on the burn. There are some people that will tell you to put butter or some kinds of sabb. Dont listen to them, I learned this in my nursing school. Cold, cold water or ice is the only thing to use. Hope you feel better.
