Hi, going by what you wrote, you need to know God, experience the Holy presence of the Holy Spirit. Try putting into practice what's written in the Bible and then you will find that's it's true.

About priests molesting childs, they aren't men of God but they are possessed by evil spirits, demons, in order form them to do that.
No one that converted to God could do something like that.
And if the church that your going has those examples, you probably are in the wrong path.

You know the tree by its fruits!!! - Think about it

When life is good, we take God for granted. But when our life in trouble we turn to God first (those who believe). When life is good it's hard to see those small miracle that happens. When life is bad we ask for big miracles. For you, I think you made first step getting closer to God by acknowledging needing help. Next is find a good church where you feel comfortable and try to go there for few weeks. Then let me know after that. Remember one step at a time. By the way been there.

how close could you be if you havent been to church in 4 years - btw the Bible wasnt written 2 years after Christ died - the Gospels were written 20-30 years after, dont let that make you doubt
read a Case for Christ and all the evidence you need will restore your faith - also find a well balanced church and start going

User Question everything is right....My father is a biblical Scholar and he says that there are no documents to support anything before 300 years after Jesus died. We are just going on claims by the Church. Anything else you read is from a biased Christian authors perspective, My father and his associates have been studying religious history as well as the bible for over 30+ years, no biblical Scholar really takes it seriously. And neither should you.

First of all, being on here isn't helping. Why don't you visit a Non Denominational church, and just see how you like it. The ones Ive been to offer a lot of teaching and are positive places. It wouldn't be like turning your back on your religion, it would be just getting a different perspective. There are Independent Assemblies and Inter Denominational church too. I hope you will give one a chance.

Scriptures are quite reliable. Men have been translating it, and of course they write in their ideas somewhat. I recommend THE SCRIPTURES by the institute for scripture research. There is no truth in churchianity, and so very little advantage to going to "church" unless you can find one which follows Scripture. His name is YHVH, and the Messiah's name is YHVH is my Savior, (hence it is YAHOSHUA) There is salvation in no other name. (Acts 4:12) Maybe a bible study by mail order would help encourage you to worship Him in Spirit and truth. Amazing Facts has some good studies. They include some errors, but mostly follow Scripture. Praising Him for your blessings is a good start.

Is good to question your religion... ask God to guide you in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping... think about things at that time.
Wake up in the dawn and wonder upon Creation and ask God, if you created me than for shore you can guide me as well.

Look i was a practicing Christian, and when i realized... i was practicing something that i had doubts like you... then i asked God to guide me and when on searching about the monotheistic religions (I would never think there is more Gods than just my Creator... i owe everything to him.

Look upon Islam, Christianity and Judaism (just an advice), you'll realize the truth hopefully... if God wills

Attend a southern Baptist church that preaches truth only from the bible, read the bible for yourself, and pray for guidance. When Jesus died on the cross the veil to the temple was ripped in half.We do not have to go to a priest. We pray straight to god through Jesus.

I would recommend that you reach back to Him. If you feel a loss, then that should indicate to you a genuine need. If there was nothing to God, why would you feel empty and uncomfortable separated from Him. Go back to church and pray to God daily. Seek Him and He will make Himself known to you. Don't rush it, but consistently keep your mind open for His direction.

Sounds like you are listening to too many nay-sayers. Try reading my studies.

The question is, who do you choose to believe? Ignorant man, or eternal God? Your choice. I choose to believe God, and everyday He shows me something new and cool regarding His Word. I choose not to wallow in other people's ignorance. It's too depressing.
