I'm a stay at home mom and sometimes i just don't have the time to make lunch for myself and end up eating junk or snaking like crazy so i was thinking about drinking slimfast... do you think it works? or are there other shakes that are better?

I don't mind the taste ... I'm just looking for something easy for lunch.

Better yet, go to a GNC or similar store and buy a nice big jug of protein powder and make your own shake at home. It'll be healthier and work better.

Do not drink Slim Fast, I have never used it, but evey woman I know that has, has lost weight and then gains the weight back plus some.

Slim Fast is not nutritious, if you are looking for a meal replacement drink for your lifestyle, visit a health food store, a Soy Protein meal replacement shake will give you the nutrients as well as the convienence and does not taste bad. There are plenty on the market right now and are much healthier than the older versions of shakes - like slim fast

Don't! Those things are loaded with sugar.
The 4 main ingredients are skim milk, sugar, fructose, and cocoa. In other words, milk, sugar, and sugar. Other ingredients include various vegetable oils, emulsifiers, and a dubious vitamin blend. A 375ml (1.5 cups) shake contains 12 grams of protein -- slightly less than what you'd obtain drinking the same amount of 1% low-fat milk. This same shake contains 38 grams of carbohydrates -- 20 grams more than if you drank the equivalent amount of 1% low-fat milk (with those additional carbs coming from the added sugar). Considering that milk contains significant amounts of vitamins A and D, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B12, Calcium, Phosphorous, Magnesium and Zinc, I'd suggest that you chuck the Slim Fast shakes (vitamin blend and all), and simply drink milk instead. There is so much sugar in these shakes and so little fiber, your blood sugar levels are going to go through the roof -- especially if you happen to be hyperinsulinemic, or hypoglycemic. So you can look forward to intense cravings, fatigue, unproductivity, mood swings, and more cravings.

You best bet is to get some protein powder from a health food store- they come in a lot of flavors- and mix it yourself. You'll be much healthier.

I've tried the Slim Fast shakes but they don't keep you full for long at all. Try some oatmeal or eggs (Eggbeaters). They don't take long to make, don't have a lot of calories, and will keep you feeling full for hours. Also, apples are nice and filling, too and are great for when you have the "munchies" and need something crunchy to eat.

Slim Fast is nothing but water, sugar and a little bit of protein added in.

even the advertisements of Slim Fast never claim that you will lose "body fat" only that your "weight" will decrease. well if your weight decreases and your aren't losing body fat that leaves, water and muscle.
