I was diagnosed with an ulcer as well when I was around your son's age, so it's completely plausible. Regardless of what is causing the ulcer, he will need treatment. If it's from H.Pylori, he will need a round of antibiotics to clear the infection. There will need to be diet (avoid spicy, greasy foods) and lifestyle changes (less stress, haha, I know, quit smoking) as well to increase his comfort level until his ulcer is under control. There are medications that can be taken to decrease stomach acid and keep the ulcer from becoming aggravated. Your son will need to see a doctor for a definite diagnosis. Hope he feels better soon!

A number of lifestyle changes may reduce the symptoms of a peptic ulcer, and speed up healing:

-avoid food and drink that seems to cause more severe symptoms such as spicy foods, coffee and possibly alcohol,
-stop smoking,
-lose excess weight if overweight

Because many ulcers stem from H. pylori bacteria, you need a Dr.... Doctors use a two-pronged approach to peptic ulcer treatment:

-Kill the bacteria.
-Reduce the level of acid in your digestive system to relieve pain and encourage healing.

Doctors now know that ulcers are caused by a simple stomach bacteria and can be treated by a specific antibiotic.

Look in your yellow pages for a free clinic. There should be one in your area.

An ulcer is (nowadays) considered a bacterial infection which can be cured with an anti-biotic.

Try to go to a street clinic and have him get some help there.

A 16 year old with an ULCER? I doubt that very seriously. If he is in a lot of pain, and/or passing blood in his bowels, take him to the ER now. They will see him without insurance.

Ulcers are usually caused by a bacterium, Helicobacter pylorii. They can be treated with antibiotics, but you have to see a doctor to get the diagnosis confirmed.

your medicaid will go back a certain number of months and cover medical bills during the processing times, and even if it doesn't you child deserves medical care now, even if it means you have to pay the bill. That is part of being a parent. Those van be very serious and cause serious complications. You need to have him seen at an E.R., that way they can bill you later and you can make payments, even 25.00 a month.

Sadly the best thing to do in your situation is sign your son up for the American Euthanasia & Suffering Cessation program. They will put him to sleep (for free), and it won't hurt much at all they make everyone including the family feel as comfortable as possible. This is a new program since 2001, to help put terminally ill or mentally incapacitated patients who can't afford treatment out of their suffering. Hope this helps.
