Some employers have them available online, some don't. You'd have to call the company where you worked and ask them if they do, and if so, how to get yours. Doesn't sound like they're going to be of much help though, if they were rude to you the first time you called.

It is a legal requirement that W2's be postmarked by January 31st each year.

You should make sure your current and former employers have your current address, and then, unfortunately, you just have to wait. Most companies will not re-mail a W2 until around the 2nd week of February, to allow enough time in the postal system for the original one to reach you. If you have not received it around February 14, you should contact your company again and request it.

Good luck.

Oh, you could also ask your former company for their tax ID number, and you could try to upload the information in TurboTax. Sometimes the information is online, but that varies company to company. I know that TurboTax is one software system that will allow you to enter the Tax ID number and it will search for you.

I don't think companies make that something that is down-loadable from the internet. Can you just use the dollar amount from the last paycheck you received in 2006? Companies are required to mail out the W-2 by January 31.

No, you will have to wait it out. BTW, companies have until January 31st to send out W-2's, so most people don't get them until February anyway...
