At Fort Sam Houston, in San ANtonio, Tx the houses vary from 2 bdr/2bath to 6 bdr/4 bath. According to rank and number of occupants.

A standard 2/2 is about 1800 Sq.Ft and two story. Most are less then 10 years old.

If you are an E-7-E-9 you would probably get 3/2 of about 2800 SqFt

0-6-0-9 will have the older mansion style with about 4000 Sq Ft.

All in all great value for the money. Since it includes utilities,a dn security.

My advice would be go to the housing site of the base you are interested in and checkout the square footage and housing by rank restrictions, family size and such. I was in the air force and the housing was great in some places and no so in others. My son is at Fort Bragg and the housing I have seen there is fairly old and looks pretty bad, with some pest problems, but also they are infairness building new housing and trying to upgrade. The soldiers really deserve much better than it is , so I hope they get it done quickly. Some new is available but I think the folks already living in the old get first dibs on that. Best of luck.

Housing on post is now normally privatized so you do infact PAY your BAH for your set of quarters. You get housing by rank of soldier and how many bedrooms you are authorized. Most posts generally have 2, 3, and 4 bedroom sets of quarters. They are typically townhome style, or individual homes. Some installations have 6 bedrooms, but those are for families with 5 or more children.

Ok, it depends on the service members rank and amount of children/dependants. I'm pretty sure that all of the branches give rooms for both sexes of children. If a child is over 10yrs old, they get their own room and for example if you have a 10yr old two 4 and 5 yr old girls and a 6 yr old boy, you would get a house with 4 bedrooms.

The ones I saw in Germany were like an average condominium or apartment here in the states. I would imagine there are different sizes... but the ones I remember were two bedrooms and had full sized (separate) areas for a dining room & living room area - decent sized kitchens and full bathrooms.... I'm sure it probably varies from place to place though.

what you are entitled to is dependant on the paygrade and number of children in the family. CONUS, you can expect to get one bedroom epr child regardless of age and gender. OCONUS, you can expoect children under 6 to share a room(regardless of gender) same gender under 12 share a room, and 12 and up get their own room. Those without children rate a 2 BR ..usually an apartment as oppsoed to a house.

Each base will vary as to quality, size and waiting list.

Very good. 3 bedroom 2 baths. Cousins live on base at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Really nice housing actually. The U.S military usually takes very good care of their troops with housing, eduaction, and pay.

Very good and you can have 3 bedrooms, kitchen and dining room combined, living room, 1 bathroom and a half,
and the apartments are really well-maintained.

Go to https://onestop.army.mil/ and it will break down by rank, post ect...if you have children, you type in husbands rank and how many dependants and it will bring up what housing at each post is available to you guys. That site has pictures, floorplans, layouts, and usually square footage. Good luck!

Depends on what rank the person in the military is. The higher their rank, the nicer the house.
