I was married in February 2006 in Maui, Hawaii. It was wonderful and I wouldn't have done it any differently looking back. We used Old Lahaina Luau for the wedding services. They are very professional and will help you thru every step of the process (pictures, flowers, cakes, etc). The wedding was amazing and ran very smoothly. After the wedding they hold a traditional Hawaiian luau and buffet, a great reception for you and your guests. Another feature that I liked is that the wedding ceremony was private, meaning that bystanders cannot stand and watch. Other companies that I researched generally used public beaches for the ceremony, leaving you open to the prying eyes of strangers! Also, I found that they were much less expensive than using a Hotel/Resort as coordinator, which is a very popular option. Their website is http://www.oldlahainaluau.com/index_main.html
This may sound like an advertisement for them but its not, just a very satisfied client.

In the tropics?
LOL, just kidding.
Lubbers Quarters Cay in the Abaco Bahamas. It's out of the way from everything and everyone (I used to own property there). There isn't any stores on that island but a 10 or 20 minute boat ride will get you to one or two different places where you can buy anything you need. 10 minutes to Hopetown and 20 minutes to Marsh Harbor.
Have fun, I know you will!

I choose to get married in the Dominican in Punta Cana, it looks beautiful and everyone I've talked to has said that it has been one of the nicest places to relax and vacation. Most hotels there offer a free wedding package with your stay at the hotel. It's very hassle free. I'm getting married in March and I haven't done a thing except get my dress. My travel agent has been great, taken care of all RSVP's and the wedding coordiantor at the hotel has been so great with any questions that I have.
We are getting married at Ocean Cana Resort.

Check it out its beautiful and very inexpensive.
Wherever you choose I definately think destination weddings are the way to go, my guests are just as excited as I am because they are all getting a nice vacation.
Good luck and congrats!!

I got married on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Awesome! The reason why I picked the US virgin islands, is b/c since it's American, I felt like I wouldn't have to worry about any legalities.
