More like the actual "v" as an "vet" in English

"B" as an boy

Or is it both combined?

I'm going towards the spanish that is used in Mexico, if that helps. Thank you

Actually it depends on the region where you are , people in Spain and in Argentina would make it sound a s in vet but most countries would not have a very big differentiation between the two sounds, it is something like in the middle, i mean you make it as if it where a "b" but less strong.

I would say both combined, since you talk about the Spanish spoken in Mexico.
Examples b as boy. van in the sentence: Que van a hacer esta noche ? Vamos a la playa juntos ! Ven aqui !
v as vampire : Quiero viajar a Venezuela, porque es un pais muy bonito.
Buena suerte ! Good luck !

I'm from Spain, and we pronounce V like B (both vowels sound like the "B" sound). So when I say "Victoria" it sounds like "Bictoria".

But people from Catalunya, Valencia or the Balearic Islands (regions in Spain) can pronounce V and B in the English way because they speak Catalan, Valencian or Majorqui, and the sounds of V and B are like in English).

Hi!
The correct pronunciation is V as in "Vet".
Some latinamerican coloquial uses make people incorrectly pronounce the V as a B (Boy), but this does not make this use correct.
V is V (Vet, Vaca)
B is B (Boy, Baño)

Please, do not contribute to any excuse for lazyness hidden under a coloquialism mask. V is V as in VET. Pronounce it right!

Goodluck!

It's somewhere in between "v" and "b". It sounds more like a "b", but you let air flow a bit between your lips when you make that sound, so it's not as strong as a regular "b".

That's at least how Mexicans pronounce it.

I'm portuguese but I guess the letter V is said and pronounced the same way.
I think it's more of the "Vet" kind of sound. At least in portuguese it is.
It's the same movement with the lips. the lower lip move under the upper teeth, if you know what I mean.
I dunno if this was what you were looking for...

My Spanish teacher occassionally combines it. She says veintiseis as beintiseis, but she says voy as in voy.

I think that depends.

I've heard it combined, like saying the "b" sound with a puff or air.
