either one should be fine for weight loss. just watch your portions and use fat free or skim milk. you need cereals and grains in your diet, even if you're trying to lose weight.

the best cereal for a diet is oat meal, but since you didn't list that on the schools menu, the cereals that are made with whole oats, rather than wheat or corn have the best chance of helping your diet.

if you can, i'd recommend buying Kashi GoLean Crunch. it's really healthy, with fiber and protein, and you can eat more of it than other cereals for the same amount of calories. it keeps you full longer than most other cereals as well.

Total or Cheerios!! I am currently on a diet and these are the two cold cereals that they recommend. Total has the fiber and vitamins, Cheerios has the fiber and lowers the cholesterol.
