Every time I try and download one it only brings up a desktop icon and when i double click it it doesnt work, any ideas?

first of all you have to install a software called utorrent or bit comet which are easily available try the website www.utorrent.com for downloading.after downloading and installing this software download torrents from the sites provided by the search tool in the software after downloading torrent open the torrent thus downloaded through the software a dialog box will appear make no changes just click ok (while using utorrent) your download will start within a few minutes.

do u have a torrent client installed.
i use utorrent http://www.utorrent.com/
this will allow u to download torrents.

u need to install the torrent client for this my frend
goto www.getazureus.com and download azureus and then open the torrent file with azureus.............if any probs contact me again
