Is it in a location that you want to be in? Close to work? or school? or where you hang out? If you have pets do they allow them? Is the place clean? Does the place have enough space to accomodate your needs? Can you afford the rent? What exactly is included in the rent?
Best thing to do if you have your eye on a particular place, drive by and walk around the building at different hours to try and gauge if you will have loud neighbors or if the area "changes" drastically at night, if possible talk to another resident in the complex and ask them what they think of the landlord or maintenance company.
