Concentrate!
Do your own cardio work aswell, the cardio in the class will be good, but if you are unfit, by doing your own you wil progress alot quicker. Go running, take a skipping rope with you.
Practice your foot work at home. Get your own heavy bag and use that if there is not a class on for you to do.
When you get up in the morning do your push ups, do as many as you can, then drop to your knees and then continue doing them. Do this 4 or 5 times a day. Your strength will soon increase, benifiting you in classes.
Every week put some spends aside and then once a month do a private lesson and use this to it's full potential, learn as much as you can and put it into practice in your lessons.

Noticed that you criticise yourself with the 'I'm unfit' line, don't be so sure (unless you have a degree in sports coaching etc.) my point is the strength you have inside may be far more than you can see in everyday life. Be patient, be your own 'unconditional' friend, create a pattern for training e.g. same time every week/ day. That should be enough to keep you going for now, hope this helps

it is arguably the perfect stand-up martial artwork, shown to achieve fulfillment interior the ring time and time back. Boxing is likewise very good, yet muay thai also includes knees, kicks, elbows, and the clinch so is more suitable finished than boxing. i have experienced distinct martial arts, and that i have got here across muay thai to be between the most effectual arts, it is purely weak spot is the shortcoming of floor grappling. i wish this thoughts become sensible good success!

dont eat junk. junk in = junk out.

diet is 50% (just an estimate folks) of your potential, exercise and sleep is the rest.

as long as you train more than once a week, (3 would be awesome) , eat well, rest well, and put in your maximum effort and dedication, you will change very fast from the less than confident person into an ultra confident one.

eat well,
train well,
sleep well.

one eight letter word sums up the answer to your question:

PRACTICE

do some shadow boxing (ie PRACTICE) at home, PRACTICE on your own at home, or come a little earlier before class for some one on one PRACTICE with the instructor or to use the heavy bags in the class (assuming that they have some heavy bags for you to practice on) because the only way your going to better yourself is to PRACTICE on your own OUTSIDE of class.

Do you see the pattern?

another thing is: if you try some weightlifting or strength training at a local gym, it will improve you physically, so that you'll be able to become better and more proficient at the discipline you study

we have a lot of students in our class that're not advancing or doing poorly because they're not making the effort to PRACTICE outside the times that they're supposed to come to class.

So in effect, they're short changing themselves by not making better use of time to train outside of class, and often; they don't know how to properly do their forms, or basic movements, or even their kicking or punching techniques.

by practicing outside of class when you have spare time, you can better improve yourself during class by at least going through the movements.

Good luck in your training.

Practice , practice, practice. I know its an old cliche but its very true. The more you practice the better you'll get. I would also suggest skipping rope and running.

Play all of the Mortal Kombat games until you have mastered them all. When you are done, climb the highest mountain and I will be waiting for you there to continue your training. On your way, bring me a Reese's Peanut Butter cup and I will teach you everything.
