“When you meet the unbelievers, strike off their heads; then when you have made wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives.” (Quran47.4).

"And when the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other gods with God [i.e. moshrekin.] wherever ye shall find them; and seize them, besiege them, and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush: but if they shall convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is Gracious, Merciful."(Quran 9:5)

And as for Christians and Jews who rejected him he has this to say:

"Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given and believe not in God, or the last day, and who forbid not that which God and His Apostle have forbidden..."( Quran. 9:29)

Muslims are peaceful, if you deny Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God and deny He shed His blood for the remission of our sins. If you confess Allah is One and Mohammad is his messenger. And the Koran on the upper shelf.

What does the Holy Bible write? One either believes the Holy Bible or deny the Holy Bible. Mohammad denied these things and the Allah of the Koran denied these things.

Also, Jesus said to Love God with all your being. Love others as yourself. Those who live by the sword, die by the sword. Jesus Christ showed mercy to the adulterous woman. Showed mercy to the sick. Etc... (Mohammad didn't.)

Mohammad didn't agree with this if someone didn't believe Allah is One and he was Allah's messenger.

Also, Jihad is called if someone oppresses Muslims. Oppression of Muslims is as simple as drawing a cartoon of Islamic Jihad Terrorist.

AC web site of Madonna is awful. But she does bring up Jesus Christ in it. The problem is that she sounds like the harlot of abomination.

Also, thanks for writing the Quran verses. One just needs to look them up to see if they are in the Quran.

You're clearly trying to slant your question by taking a few verses out of context. Not the first time a person has done it, certainly won't be the last. We could do the same with the New Testament and the Torah if it would amuse you.

Anyway, one needs to understand a bit of history regarding the Arabian Peninsula circa the mid 6th century. Many of those ayats are regarding the pagans in Makkah who plotted to kill and torture the Muslims. For years God told the Muslims to be patient and don't fight back. Then finally He says, OK, now is the time. Defend yourselves. But of course God also says things like: Do not transgress the limits in war, because truly God does not love the transgressors.

Likewise there were some early battles between muslims and jews in Medina. A group of the jews in Medina didn't like Muhammad's new message as it took power away from the Rabbis and contradicted some of accepted Jewish theology, so they plotted to poison him and assasinate him.

So with some historical context behind you references, those verses seem perfectly reasonable to me and show that turning the other cheek is best, but when that doesn't work, you need to be able to defend yourself.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims, like the overwhelming majority of Christians, arepeaceful.

Its only the extremists who distort--and disgrace--their religions who are violent in either religion--and it is only these same extremists who, again disgracing their religion, who attempt to smear ad stereotype the other as "all being violent."

And as long as you want to take religious texts out of their historical and cultural context to try to "prove" your point, why don't you be honest enough to put up some of the equally violent quotes from the Bible. Try Joshua 8:24-26, for example:

24 When Israel had finished killing all the men of Ai in the fields and in the desert where they had chased them, and when every one of them had been put to the sword, all the Israelites returned to Ai and killed those who were in it. 25 Twelve thousand men and women fell that day—all the people of Ai. 26 For Joshua did not draw back the hand that held out his javelin until he had destroyed [a] all who lived in Ai.

here is the tafsir (interpertation):
1*47:4
So when you encounter [in battle] those who disbelieve, then [attack them with] a striking of the necks (fa-darba'l-riqābi is a verbal noun in place of the [full] verbal construction, that is to say, fa'dribū riqābahum, 'then strike their necks'), in other words, slay them - reference is made to the 'striking of the necks' because the predominant cause of being slayed is to be struck in the neck. Then, when you have made thoroughly decimated them, bind, spare them, take them captive and bind firmly, the bonds (al-wathāq is what is used to bind [yūthaqu] a captive). Thereafter either [set them free] by grace (mannan is a verbal noun in place of the [full] verbal construction), that is to say, either show them grace by setting them free unconditionally; or by ransom, ransoming them with payment or with Muslim captives, until the war, that is to say, its participants, lay down its burdens, its heavy loads of weaponry and other things, so that either the disbelievers surrender or enter into a treaty. This [last clause] constitutes the 'purpose' of [enjoining the Muslims to] slaying and taking captive. So [shall it be] (dhālika is the predicate of an implied subject, [such as] al-amr, 'the ordinance', in other words, 'the ordinance [of God] regarding them is as mentioned'). And had God wished, He could have [Himself] taken vengeance on them, without any fighting, but, He has commanded you to [do] it, that He may test some of you by means of others, from among them, by way of battle, so that the slain among you will end up in Paradise, while those [slain] among them [will end up] in the Fire. And those who are slain (qutilū: a variant reading has qātalū, 'those who fight') - this verse was revealed on the day of [the battle of] Uhud, after the dead and the wounded had become numerous among the Muslims - in the way of God, He will not let their works go to waste, He will [not] render [them] void.

so it talks about war,the battle field and notin general,

2*9:5
Then, when the sacred months have passed - that is, [at] the end of the period of deferment - slay the idolaters wherever you find them, be it during a lawful [period] or a sacred [one], and take them, captive, and confine them, to castles and forts, until they have no choice except [being put to] death or [acceptance of] Islam; and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush, [at every] route that they use (kulla, 'every', is in the accusative because a [preceding] genitive-taking preposition has been removed). But if they repent, of unbelief, and establish prayer and pay the alms, then leave their way free, and do not interfere with them. God is Forgiving, Merciful, to those who repent.

it talks when the prophet entered mecca, without blood shed, after the quraish ppl have betrayed their treaty withe prohet,

3*9:29
Fight those who do not believe in God, nor in the Last Day, for, otherwise, they would have believed in the Prophet (s), and who do not forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden, such as wine, nor do they practise the religion of truth, the firm one, the one that abrogated other religions, namely, the religion of Islam - from among of those who (min, 'from', explains [the previous] alladhīna, 'those who') have been given the Scripture, namely, the Jews and the Christians, until they pay the jizya tribute, the annual tax imposed them, readily ('an yadin is a circumstantial qualifier, meaning, 'compliantly', or 'by their own hands', not delegating it [to others to pay]), being subdued, [being made] submissive and compliant to the authority of Islam.

in order to understand the Quran u should know the circumctances the verses were sent and why , to get the wisedom out of it and notto get it out of its contexts.
also be sure that islam came for perserving the human rights, applying justice , and showed and clarified the limits between combatants and non combatants , between dealing nicely with non muslims and .......etc it is a complete system for human life.!!

Muslims will say you are taking it out of context.

If I said horrible things like "carve someones heart out and eat it", what context is that ok to say it in if it is a holy book and it is a command from a so called god.

Those phrases and their context are that of their god speaking those words as a command! That is the context!

You cannot be a good muslim with only the KORAN you also have to learn via hadith aka stories of mohammad. One of the last things mohammad said before he died was that Jews are the enemy and must be killed. That is the context too!

Drawing cartoons of islamic jihad Terrorist cannot be oppression because according to Muslims the terrorist are not true muslims they are hijacking islam, therefore when someone draws them they are drawing and/or making fun of or spewing hate at bad guys that hijacked islam's good name.

If you take offense to those drawings hmm whose side are you on?

On keeping promises and oaths here is what your prophet mohamad actually thought of it!

"The Prophet said, 'If I take an oath and later find something else better than that, then I do what is better and expiate my oath.'" [Bukhari: 7:67:427]

Look it up! They are your holy books you should know them far better than I!

Please read the context before asking anything...the above verses u have mentioned were presented at that time when "SULAH HUDAIBIYA" conditions were accepted by muslims and non-muslims.but non-muslims break their promises.so it was for those non-muslims who break there promise...not for all...and also there is not only one kind of war which have weapons...there is also a war in which u only talk that is Debate...so third verse means war with them means"debate"with them who deny the truth .... also quran mention in surah mumtahnah chapter#60 verse# 8 and 9 that is " dont fight with those who dont fight with u and dont let out of ur hoses"..."fight with those who fight with and let u out of ur houses"

you cannot fight these people:

1) Except those who join a group, between you and whom there is a treaty (of peace). Quran 4:90
2) or those who approach you with their breasts restraining from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. Quran 4:90
3) if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allâh has opened no way for you against them. Quran 4:90
4) those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Quran 60:8
5) peace to those who give peace to you. Quran 8:61

[90] Except those who join a group, between you and whom there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with their breasts restraining from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. Had Allâh willed, indeed He would have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. So if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allâh has opened no way for you against them.
Quran 4:90

[8] Allâh does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allâh loves those who deal with equity.
Quran 60:8

[61] But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allâh. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
QUran 8:61

I don't know if any of these scriptures are true... But if you just look at the middle eastern countries and how violent they are, and how much hate they have for isreal...then you can obviously see that the MAJORITY of muslims are not peaceful. It is NOT true that ALL muslims are terrorists or violent. But Yes i can see where your coming from. If those scriptures are true, then why were our soldiers prosecuted for damaging or treating the Quran bad? F that?!?!?! That book tells muslims to kill us? WHy sohuld we show any respect to that book?!

first proof of your dis honesty is that you are quoting a selected verses of koran without thier context... and your sin is that you are trying to provoke hatred for islam.. this is not accptable at any cost...
let me give you an open challenge... come up again and also post following verses
quran 47.1 to 6
but you never come up with it, as you know that these verses told believers that in war if non-believers surrender then give them peace.. and if you meet them in war zone ............

same is true for other verses that you deliberately selected and proof of your dishonesty...

and sorry to say that you are also an perfect stupid
