The reason the Vatican uses Latin for all official business is to stop changing language and culture from influencing the Holy Bible and laws of God. The vulgate translation of the Bible, entirely in Latin, is the one the Catholic Church uses. Subsequent translations, which have taken books out, changed language to make passages mean something entirely different than the original, and even added text, are seen as insufficient.
God does not change to fit culture. Culture must change if it does not fit God.
I trust the Bible as written by God's inspiration...not as written by King James or anyone since.
As for ANYone who molests ANY child, they should hang.
As for what God thinks, ask Him. I do not speak for Him.

Read the Bible... it DOESNT fit today's culture or it would say homosexuality is just fine, making all the money you can is just fine, sex with whomever you want is just fine, lying is fine if you dont get caught, marriage is easily disposable, abortions are fine if you dont feel like being a parent etc etc.
This should help you to see that it was never rewritten to fit into a culture. It HAS been translated many times but all the old texts are still available to compare to. Translation happens to make sure we are still following what was taught thousands of years ago. The old texts are not destroyed, and we use them in translating. It's as if you would go and copy a news paper from 100 yrs ago word for word. You COULD have a typo but you are still going to have the same story as in the original paper.

Some words are difficult to translate, and translate differently into different languages. The people doing the translating are doing their best to keep the original meaning. Books have been removed, and books have been added over time. If you've ever read the bible you'll find that the new testiment is just one story told by different people. If everyone that knew YOU wrote their memory of you some peoples would be worth scrapping, others would get a lot of press. It's on YOU to decide which parts are true. Not which parts you agree with, but which parts are true. You may not think premaritial sex is wrong (I know I'm cool with it) but that doesn't make us right.
Priest's having sex? Memorizing a book and wearing a funny hat doesn't make you holy. Jesus never trusted priests, why should we?
Even if you don't believe in God or Jesus or the bible you should still read it. The modern english one is pretty easy to follow. It's actully two different books (Like Kill Bill 1 and 2). The Old Testiment is scary as hell, and kind of hard to follow because it covers thousands of years. It's the story of God's chosen people. God wasn't like Jesus, he was a hateful dude. He played favorites like Hitler. The book follows his favorite people. Then Jesus is born. His life is the new testiment. He was a total hippy. He dug everybody. He just walked around helping people and the church and the governments all wanted him dead, because he made them look like assclowns. Wether he was holy or not is up to you. After reading the book, I would totaly hang out with Jesus. Water into wine, free bread and the whole deal.

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Greek. The Bible has never been "rewritten". It's been translated many times from the original languages with the intent of making the Bible easier to read and comprehend, But it has always been and always will be trustworthy. I suggest that you ask a priest your next question. God loves everyone while hating the sin they commit. God loves you as much as He loves me, or anyone else.

Well there is no "original" manuscripts, but we do have over 15,000 pieces of manuscript evidence that say primarily the same thing from all over the world. They are very old.
Can I trust something that changes so much. It hasn't, it's been translated from extremely complicated languages into simpler ones so some verses say "evil" and others "chaos". Some say Jesus and others Christ Jesus. It's a loss in translation not content.
What happens to the priests who molest boys? Some of them thankfully go to jail. One particular priest I read went to jail and was murdered by an inmate. They inmate was unstable and killed him for the notoriety I believe.
What's God think of them? I think God holds them to much higher standards then non believers who do the same. They have put themselves as ambassadors for God in a sense and have made God look bad, creating stumbling blocks to His sheep. The bible says that those who hurt the littlest of his children would be better off with a millstone tied round their neck and thrown into the sea than to face God on judgement day.

Priests molesting little boys had just as well tie a boulder around their neck and throw themselves into the river, because God warns us not to be a stumbling block to His children.
As for the Bible stay with the King James Version because it is as close as you will get to what the prophets and the disciples wrote as dictated by the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is consistent. I wanted to learn Greek to see if the translators got it wrong, and although there are minor situations where some translations do not get the original meaning across, no where does the Greek New Testament contradict anything taught in orthodox Christianity. The Bible remains pure, it only becomes corrupt when people try to change it to fit their lifestyle. You can't do that. You have to change your life to conform to the Biblical teachings.

Where are you getting your information? The bible, or the books of the bible were copied from the original by Scrolls who's job it was to copy word for word changing or leaving out nothing, and the penalty for any change or even mistake was DEATH!!...we now have the dead sea scrolls that were done very close to the original time of the documents and they verify that.......Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow...PLEASE read the bible and educate yourself before making these type of boneheaded statements.

The bible hasn't been rewritten so much as translated many times, but virtually all of the modern copies stem from the Latin Vulgate (4th or 5th Century AD) one of the 1st complete Bibles.

Many translations yet the meaning is the same: Repent and believe to be saved. Remember, before the end is to come, the gospel must be preached throughout the whole world. So, unless everyone speaks English (which they don't) the Bible has to be translated into every language on earth.
