i have tried to donate blood and many times been sent away because i don't have enough iron. three weeks ago was my most recent attempt and so i got rescheduled for today at 4:15. i kept forgetting to take my multivitamins so last night i took one and took another one today. do you think those two vitamins will have enough of an impact to make it possible for me to donate, or would i have had to been taking them this whole time?

If you are low on iron in your blood, you may have pernicious anemia. You do not need to take more iron into your system, but extra B12.
For years I thought I had an iron deficiency that turned out to be a B12 deficiency. Many women have this probleml.
Many multi-vitamins don't have enough of one supplement or another, so you will have to get a seperate bottle of B12.
You should, of course, go to a nutritionist or a good doctor or chiropractor, to have tests run. This will tell you what you are deficient in.

Iron supplements will gradually raise the level of hemoglobin in your blood. There are a number of reasons why your hemoglobin may be low, however, and you should see your family doctor for an evaluation as to why you are anemic. Iron may not be the problem or the solution to the problem.
