I don't mean 'a flippin drop dead gorgeous hottie' not that kind of a 'smoker' ....i mean someone who's fingers, hair, lips & clothes smell like burnt tobacco 24/7?

Nope! I turned down a date with a really nice guy recently because he's a smoker. It's so absolutely gross there's no way around it.

Ummm, I usually make it my standard that I would not date a non-smoker because I smoke and I love smoking and don't want for someone to constantly be bitchin about it. I agree with Sexton that I've never been turned down for sex by a man b/c of it but if you don't like smoking then date a non-smoker! Simple as that. Everyone is against smoking anyway these days so you shouldn't have a hard time unless maybe they were picky about a beer belly.

I think you're being a little extreme here. I've never met a girl within 10 years of my age (older or younger) who smelled ONLY of burnt tobacco.
I've dated a few smokers (and I smoke myself) and while there might be a HINT of the odor, any girl who takes care of herself usually has some nice shampoo/conditioner-smell to her hair, and a little perfume...
And if she doesn't take care of herself... then... umm... no. I wouldn't go near her.
I put too much work into how I present myself to spend time with someone who doesn't make a similar effort.

I would think that would depend on the smoker. Is she/he unclean? There are millions of smokers in the world, and sex seems to be linked to smoking (cigarette afterwards....) They don't seem to have too many problems getting some. I would think if it bothers you that bad, then you should probably find a non-smoker. If that's not plausible, then tell he/she that you feel like you're making out with an ashtray and see if they offer to help (mouthwash, showers before, even dare I say quitting? )

I've dated a couple of smokers... their houses smelled like ashtrays and so did they. Kissing them after they smoked was like kissing a cigarette :( I'd never date another smoker, personally, but it's really up to you & what you can put up with on a regular basis.

I would not date a smoker and would not stay with my boyfriend if he started. It's not only dirty and stinky, it causes numerous health problems. Who wants to be with someone who doesn't care about their body and who will need to be taken care of in old age?

heck no i hate smokers its the most disgusting habit a person can have, and to have to smell and taste cigarettes off another person during sex would be gross.. id probably vomit at the same time.. its bad enough when you walk past a person whos smoking, or walking past a person who isnt smoking, but stinks of that old cigarette smell.. yuck
