There is NO CHOLESTEROL in any VEGETABLES or any plant\tree derived products like fruits, nuts etc. Cholesterol is a lipid (a fat related substance) that is formed and FOUND IN ANIMALS only (including humans). So only animal products such as meat, seafood, eggs, milk and other dairy products like butter, cream etc. contain cholesterol.plus the human body makes its own cholesterol and therefore when you consume additional cholesterol through the food you eat, your cholesterol levels will rise.

Olive oil is the best for reducing cholesterol. Sunflower is 2nd best. Canola is healthy but it's made from rapeseed which can cause thyroid problems. Same for soy. Olive oil is best because it not only reduces the bad cholesterol drs have found it increases the good. If the good is high in proportion to the bad then you don't need a special diet. My uncle had a count of 400 & the dr. said he didn't know what kept him alive. He was put on a really strict diet & was miserable. When I heard about the good versus bad I told him to go elsewhere & have both checked. It turned out his good was 175 so the bad wasn't really that bad. He was told just to watch his pork intake & use kosher salt & olive oil when cooking. A big difference from the diet he was on. That was 15 yrs. ago when he was 65 with a family history of heart problems in the men. Yet he's still alive & kicking w/o any kind of heart problems. So if I was you I'd find out the bad versus good number. But olive oil is definitely the best & the only fat that increases the good.

I don't think vegetables have cholesterol, at least not the kind that's bad for you...there is nothing in any vegetable that can harm you.

Vegetables don't have cholesterol...it's all the butter and oils that might be used to cook or flavor them.
