if your burn is a second degree one, cool it off by placing it in a cool (not icy) running water. this transfers the energy of heat from the wound to the water so that further tissue damage may be prevented. do not use toothpaste!
if it is dirty, you may wash it with clean water and any bath soap with antibacterial components.
go to your doctor so that he may prescribe you the proper medicine. usually, after the 2nd to 3rd degree burn wounds have been cleansed with saline solution, the doctors will wipe silver sulfadiazine cream over the area and then gauze it

If you can soak the burned area in ice water or an ice pack it will remove the heat from the area. You should do this immediately or as soon as you can get some ice. Do this for 30 minutes or however long you wish as the cold will relieve the pain. Break off the leaf from an Aloe vera plant and squeeze the juice onto the burned area. My Grandmother talk me as a child that Aloe vera was an extremely valuable medicinal house plant. I still have her cutting. Make sure the area is covered. If the burn is not too bad, the area will not blister and will feel callused within a day. All burns carry a risk of serious infection, so if the area reddens and swells it is best to see a physician for antibiotics.

It depends on the degree of the burn. Cool compresses unless there is blistering, then depending on how large the burn is you might need to get a RX for silvidine cream. Aloe Vera will help cool a first degree burn (when the skin is just red).

depends on how bad the burn is, but a good anti-biotic cream will help (or over-the-counter burn cream). check with your pharmacist. if it's bad go to the doctor and they can give you a script for silverdene creme (its by rx only) and that will definetly help
